Purpose of the Role:

A multi-dimensional role coordinating material flow management in the factory and supply chain, tasks will include kitting, main stores consumables, and the Goods In area – the overall intent is to ensure all operations have what they need to start on time and the factory flows during outlying shifts.


Role Dimensions:

  • Ensure that all supported areas of manufacturing and build can begin on time and the shop floor can maintain momentum, ultimately delivering projects to the racetrack on schedule.
  • Supplying of pre-prepared kits and raw material to workshops and expediting of shortages to feed in- house and Subcontract operations as guided by JQM
  • Minimise downtime of workshops by ensuring operators are never waiting for parts
  • As a key liaison between manufacturing and operations planning, ensure all teams are aligned using project status updates
  • Work closely with the Planning Team to manage the priority of kitting to projects
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Team to maintain the consumable and metallic raw material stock.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Deliver kits in line with the Planning Project priorities to ensure each project starts on time
  • Progress chase all kitting shortages with the Planning & Purchasing teams
  • Support as required the movement, storage and archiving of Composite Laminating pattern & moulds
  • Complete store ops for all finished parts into M1 stores and store or distribute as required
  • Work with the F1 Build Team to deliver a smooth flow of finished parts for each event
  • Support as required the consumable stores stock with minimum stock reorder points
  • Create purchase requests to reorder consumable stock
  • Support as required stock control of the factory nuts, bolts & washer stock
  • Support as required cut metallic billets to the Machine Shop to meet demand on the Javelin Queues

Job requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of process development and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Experience with managing the delivery of quality components to extremely tight and demanding deadlines with conflicting priorities
  • Proven track record of logistics and supply
  • Knowledge of current car parts
  • Has developed and participated in a team-oriented environment
  • Brave and comfortable to try new things
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, and MRP system

McLaren Racing Composites (MRC) is based at the McLaren Racing Composites Facility in Woking Business Park. This is a new state-of-the-art production centre with the latest in CNC machines and autoclave technology, an open plan office, gym and quiet room.
