PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:


To Support the Senior Finance Manager in providing a first-class financial service


The post holder will be responsible for:


Daily tasks – 70%

  • Assist the Senior Finance Manager in the preparation of year end accounts,
  • Be a driver of change and improvement to make process more efficient and ensure our talent can exercise their value add to the Business,
  • Review and maintenance of the stock system, working with the business partners and wider team to ensure stock is complete,
  • Ownership of posting of the banking entries & monthly bank reconciliations,
  • Assist in collating information for cashflow forecasting, and being responsive to currency needs within the Group
  • Intercompany reconciliations across the Group
  • Consolidation of subsidiary accounts at month end,
  • Review of heritage, non-f1 activities for accuracy and posting of costs in the P&L


Cost cap reporting – 10%

  • Identifying and escalating any gaps in controls / processes and introduce improvements to minimise risk of errors and non-compliance,
  • Assistance with the review of monthly codings to ensure fair and consistent exclusion of costs,
  • Support the submissions to the FIA, and assist with ad hoc FIA questions as required,


Financial Reporting and analysis – 20%

  • Manage the structure of the accounts and financial system to enable the Business Partnering team to speedily, efficiently and accurately report and forecast to the business,
  • Assistance with the year end audit, including timely management of audit requests and collating the information requests,
  • Assist the finance manager in the preparation of Group reporting requirements, including Group consolidation of MRL entities


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Maintain accurate books and records using current standard accounting practice
  • Work with the Senior Finance Manager and Finance team to ensure all deadlines and reporting requirements are adhered to
  • Work with the Senior Finance Manager and other colleagues across the business, maintaining healthy working relationships
  • Proactively assist in putting in place improved systems to allow better decisions to be taken which will drive growth of profits and delivery of cash




Job requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Part Qualified CIMA / ACCA exams
  • Experience of operating in / with foreign tax jurisdictions would be an advantage
  • Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable experience
  • Experience using SUN Systems & Infor would be an advantage
  • Confident using Excel
  • An aptitude for figures is essential
  • Management experience would be beneficial
