Purpose of the Role:
You’ll manage a series of special events and Brand Experiences for McLaren at venues around the world that underpin the prestige and importance of the brand for McLaren executives, customers, fans, partners, prospects, VIPs and at certain events in conjunction with McLaren Automotive. You’ll continuously look for ways to build out the experiences and new opportunities to drive revenue. You won’t be afraid to challenge the status quo and try new ideas that activates the brand as client groups change.
You’ll join the Brand Experience team, reporting to the Manager, Brand Experience and Heritage. The team are focused on delivering specific brand experiences to engage McLaren motorsports fans, partners, prospects and VIPs such as track days, dinners, golf and fan activations. While you’ll have a focus on the delivery of a variety of brand experiences, you’ll also collaborate with those working across other series and departments to drive innovation, learning and broader development.
Role Dimensions:
Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment.
Sometimes required to work weekends, work away from home and unsociable hours.
When attending motorsport events, the candidate may be exposed to high levels of noise and some manual handling may be required.
On event, the role requires long hours on your feet.
Please note this role is not trackside based and does not form part of the job description. Attendance to races is not guaranteed.
Principal Accountabilities:
Support the delivery of a variety of brand experiences to build and activate the brand to connect with audiences such as fans, partners, prospects or VIPs.
Manage relationships with clients, guests, talent and venues to keep them engaged with the brand and deliver memorable experiences.
Uphold all related event budgets and report changes to the Event Manager.
Work collaboratively with McLaren Automotive to deliver joint events that show unity in the different entities.
Manage temporary and onsite staff for your project, ensuring that on-site duties and McLaren standards are maintained at each event, including health & safety processes by all parties.
Take responsibility for the creation of accurate documents, marketing and client facing material (including proposals, briefings, waivers, schedules, booking forms) for all events and assets and communicate to all parties.
Use task management tools to create and manage project scheduling, ensuring all elements are carried out on time and in accordance with processes and critical paths.
·Ensure the fulfilment of supplier requirements on site for events and troubleshoot/problem solve where necessary.
Prepare post-event reporting including debriefs, rights utilisation, guest and partner surveys, event sustainability (plastic use, waste, travel emissions etc).
Capture and analyse post event feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
Liaise with external companies, internal stakeholders & partners regarding the booking & movements of assets and ensure they are insured, safeguarded and within budget.
Research suitable venues that align with event requirements and McLaren brand to deliver exceptional experiences.
Coordinate travel arrangements, recce trips and attend UK & international site visits and events where required.
Scope and work through the design process for all required assets to meet deadlines for events or shipment of assets.
Develop gift concepts with a focus on use of sustainable materials, to reduce waste to an unavoidable minimum. Management of merchandise and gift ordering and allocation.
Constant review of processes against sustainable best practice and drive implementation and adoption across all stakeholders, capturing relevant information to audit and continually assess and improve all operations.
Maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues, partners, industry stakeholders and suppliers.
Monitor competitors and industry trends and report on potential future growth opportunities to ensure the continuous development of the guest experience at all events.
Job requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential
Fluent use of English language required in both verbal and written communications.
Experience and passion in the events industry or similar.
Strong administration, time management & organisational skills to manage multiple events with different cadences and stakeholders.
High level of attention to detail.
Passionate about customer care, ensuring every attendee has an outstanding experience.
Creative mindset to bring spaces to life.
Thoughtful decision maker who can operate under intense pressure.
Desirable
Good level of knowledge of operational budget management.
Use of Smartsheet, Salesforce and Microsoft products
Interest or experience in sustainable event delivery and best practices.
Personal Attributes:
Confident working with senior stakeholders and C-suite guests.
Calm when dealing with challenging situations and relationships.
Confident public speaker.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working with 3 days a week based in the MTC.
Our state of the art, sustainable campus offers many facilities including a gym, restaurant and indoor and outdoor break-out areas, as well as direct access to park and common land. The MTC is connected to Woking mainline station via regular shuttle buses, from which London Waterloo is a 30 minute train ride.
