Purpose of the Role:
You’ll support the Brand Experience team, across special projects to deliver world-class experiences globally for our partners, prospects, fans and VIPs. Your role will be to support the expansion of new innovative experiences that drive the business strategy from fan zones to fan engagement, World Endurance Championship Guest programmes to large scale adhoc events and activations. It will also require attending events to ensure the successful delivery of each project.
Role Dimensions:
Work with and support the Head of Brand Experience and their teams/project teams across varied projects and experiential delivery.
Work in a fast paced and determined team who look to push boundaries in everything they do through continuous review and innovation to deliver world class experiences.
A focus delivering experiences with collaboration across other projects to drive innovation, learning and broader development.
Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment.
Frequently required to work weekends, work away from home and unsociable hours.
When attending motorsport events, the candidate may be exposed to high levels of noise and some manual handling may be required.
On event, the role requires long hours on your feet.
Principal Accountabilities:
Work collaboratively as part of the cross functional commercial team to support the project management plans, delivery and reporting on all elements of delivery pre-event, on-event and post-event and ensure consistency across championships and experiences.
Assist with the continuous development of the brand experience at all events that is curated for the audience in attendance.
Support innovative development of new experiences and opportunities to build a business case for approval.
Build presentation decks to support the project operations or executive briefings.
Build and manage project plans to keep a project on track and ensure consistency across projects.
Ensure that on-site duties and McLaren standards are maintained at each event, including health & safety processes by all parties, internal and external, at events.
Support the creation of accurate freight lists for items sent to each event and communicate to all parties.
Ideate gifts appropriate for each event, source and develop a distribution plan
Feed into post-event reporting including debriefs, rights utilisation, guest and Partner surveys, event sustainability (plastic use, waste, travel emissions etc).
Raise purchase orders and track with the Finance department and wider team.
Process invoices for all suppliers, in conjunction with the Finance department.
Assist projects with budget updates and monthly forecasts.
Support the reporting of all sustainability metrics and implement processes for capturing relevant information to audit and continually assess and improve all operations.
Constant review of processes against sustainable best practice and make recommendations to drive change.
Maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues, Partners, industry stakeholders and suppliers.
Monitor competitors and industry trends and report on potential future growth opportunities to ensure the continuous development of the guest experience at all events.
Job requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential
Fluent use of English language required in both verbal and written communications.
Experience and passion in the events industry or similar.
Strong administration, time management & organisational skills to manage multiple events with different cadences and stakeholders.
Flexible and adaptable to change.
Strong supplier relationship management.
High level of attention to detail.
Passionate about customer care, ensuring every attendee has an outstanding experience.
Creative and innovative mindset to bring spaces to life.
Thoughtful decision maker who can operate under intense pressure.
Desirable
Interest in motorsports.
French or second language linked to core Race Markets
Aspiration to develop a career in global events.
Good level of knowledge of operational budget management.
Use of Smartsheet, Salesforce and Microsoft products.
Interest or experience in sustainable event delivery and best practices.
Personal Attributes:
Confident working with senior stakeholders and C-suite guests.
Calm when dealing with intense pressure, challenging situations and relationships.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working with 3 days a week based in the MTC.

The MTC is connected to Woking mainline station via regular shuttle buses, from which London Waterloo is a 30 minute train ride.
