Purpose of the Role:
In this role, you will work as part of the Programme Management Office team, striving to deliver project success across McLaren Racing. You will be involved in supporting Project and Programme Managers across technical projects in F1.
The PMO team are looking for an individual with an engineering degree background interested in pursuing a career in project management. As part of this development journey, the Project Coordinator shall report to the Senior Manager, PMO, and support with the delivery of the various internal technical projects and programmes.
This role will require building strong relationships and working closely with the project teams, and key stakeholders to ensure successful project and programme delivery. In-depth technical understanding is essential to be able to capture requirements, define scope and timeline as well as identify risks. This role is primarily based at the MTC.
Principal Accountabilities:
Coordination and delivery of small to medium sized technical projects from initiation through to completion.
Supporting project and programme managers with day-to-day tasks across multiple projects.
Prepare, update and maintain departmental and project management documents. This could include detailed project plans, project status updates, budgets and risk registers.
Coordinating meetings, preparing reports, taking minutes, updating follow up action plans.
Coordination of monthly PMO reporting process.
Support the continuous improvement of PMO tools and processes.
Job requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline essential.
Experience of working in fast paced, multi-functional project management environments.
PMP, APM or Prince2 qualification desirable.
Strong technical aptitude.
Confident communicator with the ability to translate complex information succinctly to suit the audience.
Ability to multi-task over several on-going projects, ability to prioritise while managing time sensitive tasks.
Highly organised, diligent with attention to detail and the ability to maintain those skills while working under pressure.
Keen problem solver, who enjoys tacking complex challenges and finding solutions.
Previous experience in motorsport is desirable.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working with 3 days a week based in the MTC.
