Purpose of the Role:

  • The McLaren Racing Corporate Communications Team works across all racing series and oversees all partner, licensing, brand and sustainability comms as well as influencer engagement.

  • This role will support in the delivery of strategic communications objectives and ensure consistent representation of the McLaren Racing business and brand externally.

  • Reporting to the Senior Corporate Communications Manager, this role will support in the creation of comms materials and delivery of major announcements, activations, media & influencer engagement in line with the team’s priorities, with a focus on proactive brand communications and our Licensing partners.

Role Dimensions:

Based at our McLaren Technology Centre in Woking for a minimum of 3 days a week with the option of working from home for the remaining 2 days. The role reports into the Senior Corporate Communications Manager but will need to build strong relationships with the whole communications team and key stakeholders across the business to effectively execute the role.  

 

Principal Accountabilities:

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the Senior Manager on delivering against brand communications objectives and media engagement across non-motorsport media.

  • Day to day comms lead on Licensing partners including Reiss, Tumi and Abercrombie & Fitch.

  • Manage announcements, approvals, content requests, briefings in support of those Licensing partners.

  • Support and amplify the delivery of Licensee activations and key product launches.

  • Support the delivery of our influencer programme, as well as Partner and Licensee influencer engagement, ensuring brand risk is managed and opportunities are maximised.

  • Support content capture and delivery around key brand & licensing activations as well as media appearances of our spokespeople.

Job requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Good experience in a busy press office, PR agency or in-house communications team.

  • Proven experience working with media and influencers, with existing relationships in the lifestyle, entertainment and news space.

  • Strong storytelling skills, brought to life through effective media and influencer engagement.

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong copywriting skills and a keen eye for detail.

  • Great organisational skills, confident managing multiple workstreams.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working with 3 days a week based in the MTC.
