Purpose of the role:

The Senior Executive, Product plays a pivotal role in delivering world-class digital experiences across our owned platforms - the McLaren Racing website and mobile app.
 
Working across Formula 1, IndyCar, WEC, Gaming and wider business areas, this role ensures our digital ecosystem delivers against the business’s four strategic pillars: Growth, Engagement, Monetisation and Retention.

 

You will own the day-to-day product roadmap and performance optimisation of our platforms, working closely with internal stakeholders and external agency partners to ensure a stable, scalable and high-performing digital experience.

 

This role also forms a key part of the race weekend publishing team, working closely with content teams to deliver real-time coverage to millions of global fans.

 

You will be joining a high-performing, fast-paced environment where digital platforms sit at the core of fan experience and commercial delivery. 

Role Dimensions:  

This role will entail unsocial working hours, including evenings and weekends.

 

Principal Accountabilities  
Digital platform development & optimisation

  • Own and manage the short-term digital product roadmap across McLaren.com/Racing and the McLaren App.

  • Prioritise and deliver incremental platform improvements aligned to Growth, Engagement, Monetisation and Retention objectives.

  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for digital agencies and platform suppliers.

  • Oversee the performance and optimisation of our CMS, video player, fan engagement tools, SSO, API-powered feeds, and internal asset libraries.

  • Analyse user behaviour, platform performance and conversion data to identify opportunities for UX and content improvements.

  • Translate insights into actionable platform enhancements.

  • Ensure analytics tracking, tagging and reporting frameworks are accurate and aligned to business KPIs.

  • Support integration of partner requirements and commercial functionality across digital products.

 

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Work closely with the wider Digital team to ensure product capabilities support content strategy and McLaren Racing Club membership growth.

  • Proactively contribute to ideation across the Digital team, including improving fan experience and the creation and execution of content.

  • Collaborate closely with our external agency and McLaren IT to ensure robust infrastructure, integrations and performance.

  • Liaise with Commercial teams to ensure contractual partner integrations are delivered within platform capabilities.

  • Maintain clear documentation of workflows, processes and product updates.

 

Race weekend delivery

  • Deliver a selection of remote real-time race weekend coverage across all series including management of live commentary, session updates, schedule information, imagery, video and results.

  • Operate within fast-moving, high-pressure environments, maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays, in line with the global motorsport calendar.

Job requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:  

 The post holder will have: 

  • Experience working within digital product, platform operations or digital optimisation roles.

  • Strong experience managing or working with a modern CMS (Contentful or similar preferred).

  • Demonstrable knowledge of website and mobile app ecosystems.

  • Experience working with digital agencies, developers and external suppliers.

  • Proven ability to interpret analytics and translate data into product improvements.

  • Strong understanding of UX principles, conversion optimisation and digital performance metrics.

  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.

  • Knowledge of API integrations, video platforms and engagement tools is desirable.

  • Demonstrable interest and knowledge of Formula 1 and motorsport.

  • Ability to work in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working with 3 days a week based in the MTC.

The MTC is connected to Woking mainline station via regular shuttle buses, from which London Waterloo is a 30 minute train ride.
