The team entered its first Formula 1 race in 1966, since then McLaren has won 20 Formula 1 world championships, more than 180 Formula 1 grands prix, the Le Mans 24 Hours at its first attempt and the Indianapolis 500 three times.

About Brand Marketing:

The Brand Marketing team is responsible for bringing McLaren Racing’s story to life. We translate strategy into campaigns and activations that build our brand, engage fans around and deliver impact for our partners.

We do this by creating integrated, multi-channel campaigns and bringing together cross-functional teams to ensure McLaren shows up consistently and with impact across every touchpoint.

About the role

The Senior Specialist, Brand Marketing will be responsible for supporting our Head of Brand Marketing to develop and deliver major brand marketing campaigns that drive brand growth, engage our fans and deliver on our critical business outcomes.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team across McLaren Racing, ensuring campaigns are delivered efficiently and meet the strategic priorities for the brand.

Role Dimensions:

Campaign Execution & Project Management (~60%)

Concept Development & Campaign Planning (~30%)

Commercials, Partnerships & Licensing (~10%)

Principle Accountabilities

  • Deliver key campaign moments in the marketing calendar, ensuring effectiveness and consistency across multiple race series.

  • Support with the planning of annual marketing calendar and longer-term brand marketing strategy.

  • Apply efficient project management principles: running project groups, governing project plans and ensuring delivery from cross-functional teams against agreed timelines.

  • Build multi-channel campaign plans that have consideration for the full consumer journey and all consumer touchpoints.

  • Develop exceptional creative briefs for the Brand Creative Studio to ensure full understanding of the brand’s objectives, and subsequent execution of industry-leading creative materials.

  • Manage third-party agencies and production partners where required.

Job requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experiences

  • Proven experience in the sports industry.

  • Working with/for an elite sports organisation an advantage.

  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment whilst working to tight deadlines.

  • Proven experience applying project management to deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns.

  • Confidence & conviction presenting to stakeholders across all levels of the business.

  • Fluent understanding of the sports marketing landscape, with demonstrated passion and curiosity for brand storytelling.

  • Solid knowledge of digital marketing & paid media.

  • Strong experience of content marketing, with proven experience briefing, planning and executing content shoots.

  • Experience of working on events or experiential marketing.

  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to unite multiple stakeholders and functions around shared goals for the brand.

  • Experience working with high-profile talent is desired.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working with 3 days a week based in the MTC.

 

Our state of the art, sustainable campus offers many facilities including a gym, restaurant and indoor and outdoor break-out areas, as well as direct access to park and common land. The MTC is connected to Woking mainline station via regular shuttle buses, from which London Waterloo is a 30 minute train ride.
