Purpose of the Role

To support, aid and assist in the day to day running of the Composite Machining department, ensuring maximum efficiency and constant throughput across the department.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • De-tabbing of rohacells and inserts, polishing metallic moulds, and assembling them as required

  • Hand finishing of patterns, liaising with team leaders, inspection and other departments to ensure the required finish is achieved

  • Management of the department’s raw material stock, including various metals, tooling board, foams and plastics

  • Ensuring stock levels of bushes, bolts and all other consumable components across the department

  • Preparing tooling block, metal, foam and all other materials for machining, working to a list or to ad hoc requests

  • Support of TPM, department cleanliness and housekeeping in the workplace will be required

  • Loading and unloading material and completed components from CNC machines

  • To be aware of and adhere to, health and safety legislation as it applies in the workplace to ensure we are always operating in the safest manner possible

Job requirements

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • The ability to work in a hands-on and on occasions very physical manner

  • Having the ability to work methodically through a set of defined tasks

  • Good communication skills - uses accurate and clear communication and demonstrates when information is understood

  • Has a positive approach to situations and proactive when it comes to problem solving

  • Comfortable to work under instruction, but also has the ability to work under their own volition and to manage their own workload

McLaren Racing Composites (MRC) is based at the McLaren Racing Composites Facility in Woking Business Park. This is a new state-of-the-art production centre with the latest in CNC machines and autoclave technology, an open plan office, gym and quiet room.
