Role Dimensions
This role is part of the Reliability function within Engineering, working closely with the operations and trackside functions to proactively improve reliability to a championship winning level. The focus of the role is on leading and facilitating projects at concept and deployment stages to fully embrace proactive prevention of issues.
Principal Accountabilities
Overall management of faults related to operation, reliability and performance of the McLaren WEC project.
Coordination of fault management across project technical partners (race team, chassis supplier, ICE supplier etc.) and series standard suppliers (FZ, Bosch, Xtrac etc.)
Oversee information gathering, analysis, resolution planning and resolution execution for all faults.
Definition and development of new reliability focused toolsets and processes. Including, liaison with McLaren quality group to ensure best practices are deployed for the McLaren WEC project.
Analysis of data from track running to provide feedback on any reliability risks. Race weekend support may be required
Support definition and delivery of training with a focus on entrenching best practice & reliability culture and fault resolution within engineering.
Technical liaison with project technical partners and series suppliers; to ensure up-to-date information is distributed among all project technical partners and all standard processes and procedures are respected.
Map existing engineering processes and identify improvement opportunities.
Job requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline essential.
Experience working in a fast-paced design and manufacturing organisation.
Familiarity with FMEA and other reliability toolsets.
Self-motivated with experience of leading projects.
Good appreciation of design concepts, detail design and how to design for reliability.
Ability to implement data analysis techniques with a programming language such as C#, Python, R, or MATLAB.
Experience with motorsport data acquisition systems (ATLAS, WinTAX etc) would be advantageous.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working with 3 days a week based in the MTC.
